About the Freedom System

A system-thinker's answer to personal finance — built on mathematical ordering, behavioral design, and automation.

The origin story

I've been fascinated by money for as long as I can remember — this isn't the story of someone who hit rock bottom and taught themselves out of it. I've always been the finance person, the one who knew more about it than everyone around me, since I was a kid.

I went on to become an engineer in manufacturing, and that's where I learned something that changed how I think about everything: people don't succeed on willpower — they succeed on systems. It's the heart of lean manufacturing. Build a good system, make it easy to follow, and suddenly results that felt impossible become routine.

But I also saw the other half of the equation. A great system is worthless without the discipline to actually run it. That's the gap most financial advice falls into — it tells you what to do and leaves you to white-knuckle the doing. So I built the execution layer in on purpose, using the 4 Disciplines of Execution, a proven framework for turning a plan into action you can actually sustain.

The Freedom System is what happens when you combine all three: a lifetime of personal finance knowledge, an engineer's expertise in systems, and a real method for execution. I built it because friends and coworkers kept coming to me with the same questions — and I wanted a way to teach them that didn't depend on them catching me at the right moment. This channel is that way.

Simple. Systematic. Proven. Welcome, Freedom Builders.

Design principles

Mathematical ordering

Every step is sequenced by return. Employer match before debt payoff. Protection before accumulation. You never leave free money on the table.

Automation first

Every step ships with a default to automate — a payroll deduction, a recurring transfer, an autopay. Once it's configured, the plan runs without you.

One focus at a time

You never juggle all 20 steps at once. The system tells you which one needs attention right now. Focus compounds faster than multitasking.

Behavioral design

The 4DX layer — WIG, lead measures, scoreboard — turns each step into a game with a clear win condition. Progress feels like shipping, not suffering.

The three phases

Design — Define your Dream Build. Measure your starting line. Set your automation on rails. You can't build toward a destination you haven't named. This is the on-ramp, not a counted phase — and the assessment at the end points you to exactly where your system needs attention first.

Secure the Foundation — Income protection, life insurance, emergency fund, estate basics. The foundation that holds everything else up when life goes sideways. When life changes and your focus returns here, that's the system working — not regression.

Build & Automate — HSA, Roth IRA, 401(k), taxable brokerage. Tax-advantaged accounts in the mathematically correct order, with your savings rate climbing to 20%+ on autopilot.

Live Free — Fund your specific Dream Build goals. Eliminate your last obligations. Enter retirement debt-free, covered, and ready. The system runs itself.
